The preserved sail structure, fairwater planes, and upper rudder assembly from USS JACKSONVILLE (SSN-699) are scheduled to arrive in Jacksonville on Wednesday, September 16.
The components are being transported aboard four semi-trucks and trailers and are currently making their way toward Jacksonville.
Arrival at the Fincantieri Marine Repair Shipyard is currently estimated between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM Wednesday, although the timing may change as the convoy gets closer to Jacksonville.
For members of the public interested in catching a glimpse of this historic arrival, Bryan Street will provide the best public viewing area near where the components are expected to be offloaded.
